I'm nearly 70 years old. I agree. There has been an ongoing, unrelenting, inexorable [shift] toward darkness and banality, loneliness, isolation, uncertainty and pessimism in the world. I am personally, however, hopeful, joyful, and at ease. The world "system" is, always has been, and always will be evil. But individuals living under it don't have to be. We despair of all the darkness around us because we have forgotten God. Make the effort to randomly speak encouraging words to total strangers. I do this all the time and find it richly rewarding. If I see someone wearing a cool shirt, I say, "Nice shirt!" if I see an older lady all dressed up or even a young lady dressed in a flashy or cheery manner, I say, "I love your look! You look great! but never flirtatiously or like a creeper. Usually, I only do this when I am with my wife. I'll tell the checkout clerk wearing flashy glasses... "Love the glasses! They look fun!" I especially compliment young black men and older black ladies because I am white. I do my small part to bolster positive race relations. I'll tell an older Indian lady how pretty her sari is. I have yet to have anyone give me anything but a positive response. Most people are happily surprised and thank me. Share the love and it will come back to you ten times more! We cannot control the world, but we can control what we do, come what may. You will be so blessed!

I sometimes wonder how successful investors manage to accumulate enormous wealth from their investment endeavours because I am an avid investor. Hahah, oh it's changed alright and not even in US but entire world itself. Entire "system" is gradually pivoting into a grift-society kind of way, where some people work 70hours weeks and barely make a living and then there's onlyfans/youtube gurus/course sellers/etcetcetcetcetc making 7 figs a month doing 5 hours of "work" a week. Add to that rise of AI and everything that comes with it and it gets to entirely different level of silliness. Only a matter of time until collective psyche will reach a boiling point and burst like a large fucking pimple. Buckle up, fun times are coming.

No. These things are not organic they’re orchestrated

There is this anticipation in the air. Like, I’m expecting a massive disaster. Way stronger than 1980’s expectation of nuclear war, and way more disastrous than 9/11. Nobody trusts the media anymore. Nobody trusts corporations anymore. Nobody trusts politicians anymore. We don’t even trust each other anymore. Everyone is suspicious. Women now expect to be SA’d. Men now expect to be cheated on. This information revolution that has occurred, has exposed SO MUCH of the darkest parts of our reality. Things that were more hidden before, we are all now well aware of. It was supposed to be knowledge for all, but FEAR overrides other emotions and at times, our entire thinking process. At Thanksgiving a few years ago, I felt the need to confess to my parents and my sister, that I bought a gun. I felt some kind of shame about it. We are not gun people. To my shock, my dad tells me, “I bought two a few months ago.” Then my super lib, anti-gun violence sister sheepishly says, “I bought one too.” We all nervously laughed. To me, this story summarizes what we are all feeling. That it is a real possibility that THE 💩 hits the fan, and we will be left to defend our homes and our children in lawless chaos. HOPE is dwindling.

Nuclear terrorism..... that is my guess. Trump warns about this all the time and says it is the biggest threat we face. Much of what he said has come true..... The barbarians make it a likely outcome. I will let you figure out who the barbarians probably are.

Commenting here because I'm getting so much validation from this video and from these comments. It is all eery and also so validating. I want life to feel authentic again, and it hasn't since 2019. I remember being at a new years eve party, Jan. 1st 2020 and hearing news about Covid. I look back in awe at that moment, laughing with friends, dancing, socializing -- life UNTIL that moment had all felt very familiar... Like I could grasp it. Little did I know everything was about to get strange. I've felt a strange mist around our society since 2019, at least here in the U.S... We have an election coming up, we have a new generation taking control, we are at a low in our economy, I'm hoping a corner is turning here soon for us. I hope this corner is for the better and not for the worse.

I was born in the 80's in Eastern Europe, the 90's felt like a rocket ready to shoot up to the sky. Then 2000's felt like I'm flying high above the clouds, this followed by the 2010's where things felt like I'm breaking through the stratosphere. However, this breakthrough never happened because around 2015-16 things got weird, very weird. At this point, even though I know I'm doing a lot, being productive and creative, also trying to connect with people... still this world feels so EMPTY...

Since he was able to live until 92, im pretty sure he took very good care of his health and in turn was able to live longer and save more. 4. We’re becoming “men (people) without chests “ as CS Lewis foresaw. I guess this is what it feels like. I can only cling to Christ, family and true friends to keep everything from falling apart. I’ve started playing board games with my family and it’s been helping to revive time together. Reading books together. Sitting at the dining table and talking. I’ve been learning to laugh and be present now. Put the phone away. This is the key in my opinion. We’re all being drained of our lives. Precious lives. Just make a decision to live and be with loved ones without tech. It’s the only way. Then this feeling will turn around.

When you get old. You reflect and you are either happy or not with what you did with your life. Things get real as you get older. That’s why most older folks talk about how it used to be , why did it change, this society is lazy! In reality you are feeling the results of life. Good, bad or whatever. Human kind has to evolve. It will continue to evolve. We will only see how much it evolves until we die! 👋

Instead of technology making our lives easier and/or more convenient/comfortable, we have become slaves to it....we really don't need all the newest gadgetry and hypeed up electronic devices...our true and pure needs are those to the limit of which we have evolved and will end...that is healthy food, a home, excercise, nature, a few good friends, love, empathy, compassion and understanding...peace and prosperity (of mind) will follow :-)

As much as I hate this feeling you're describing and everyone in the comment section is mentioning as a 21 years old who have noticed this emergent that suddenly everything and everyone has changed to the worst post covid. But I don't think of it much for two reasons, One as a muslim we believe the world will just become more and more worse and evil as it approaches judgment day so I've no control about it, The second is it'll make me nothing but depressed.
